UK: Consultation on data sharing by HMRC https://opengovernmentdata.org/2013/09/uk-consultation-on-data-sharing-by-hmr/ Mon, 02 Sep 2013 08:13:29 +0000 http://opengovernmentdata.org/?guid=637cc40440c2ab677d761c152e8c3cd0

Introduction:

The Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) wants to be able to share more non-identifying information, including general and aggregate data as well as anonymised data sets. HMRC also seeks views on proposals to share VAT registration data, either publicly or under controlled conditions for specified purposes, for example, credit rating.

Check this box to enable comments:

According with HMRC: "The UK helped secure the G8’s Open Data Charter, which presumes that the data held by Governments will be publicly available unless there is good reason to withhold it. It is important that HMRC plays a full part. HMRC’s relationship with businesses and individuals is unique, and this is reflected in the scope and depth of the information HMRC collects, creates and protects on behalf of taxpayers."
